Vato is not just part of our rescue—he is part of our family. Rescued from a heartbreaking neglect case, Vato came to us with deep emotional wounds and serious physical challenges. He was born with a jaw defect that makes eating and barking difficult, and it comes with a dangerous risk of him swallowing his tongue if he gets too excited or overstimulated. Because of this, he needs careful monitoring during meals and times of stress.
Despite a specialized diet and ongoing care, Vato continues to struggle with keeping weight on—a lasting effect of the malnutrition he suffered in his past. His body still fights to recover from what it was denied for so long.
Vato’s fear of people—especially men—is something we honor and work with, not against. His early experiences taught him to be cautious, but within our pack, he's slowly learning that safety, respect, and love are real. While he’s not the dog who runs to greet visitors, those in his trusted circle get to see a side of him that’s deeply affectionate, loyal, and gentle.
Vato will remain with us as a permanent member of the rescue. He’s earned his place, and we are honored to give him the life he was once denied—full of patience, care, and unconditional love.
Your support and contributions will enable us to continue to help these animals in need.
